This series of work represents personal passages in my own life and the ongoing struggle to find one's place in the world, both literally and figuratively. Traveling has provided me with new physical images which in turn represent the metaphorical journey of life. Travel is captivating and opens up more possibilities in life. It introduces us to alternative spaces and destinations and can often influence one's own destiny. Travel helps us to answer and ponder the big questions of life; where you should be, what you should have, and how you should live your life. I start my compositions using photographs taken on location. Back in the studio, I develop the composition on a canvas. My subjects are images that I find myself drawn to time and again; archways, windows, doors - passages or entryways.
